Moving Day

So the big day is here.. the day we finish packing everything, load the moving truck and spend hours cleaning our apartment. Its kinda funny how much a couple can accumulate when living together. When mike and I first started out a little over a year ago.. all we had pretty much was what was in my bedroom at my parents house and the few things he had at his parents. We were shocked with how much we actually had after we had finished packing. we managed to completely fill a 14ft. uhaul truck and load his honda pretty much to the roof. 

It took us all day to finish packing. We had mike's brothers' Johnathon and Scotty, our friend Darren, and My Dad and Brother who came to help us load up. After getting pretty much everything out and loaded up  We planned to meet up later for lunch/dinner at Garcia's Mexican Restaurant

Since we weren't that hungry, Mike, Scotty and I shared their Super Nachos. They were pretty good. and for dessert we got fried ice cream and chocolate mini chimi's. After we ate, we thanked everyone for coming to help us and thanked them for joining us for dinner. then Mike, Scotty and I headed back to the apartment to start cleaning. 

Kylee and Brody came over shortly after we returned to our apartment, thank goodness they were there to keep us company, because we had been up since 5am packing and loading and we were exhausted. Around midnight we all got the munchies and ended up going to little caesers to get a pizza and bread sticks and sparkling cider :). so we had a little break, and toasted to having a great time, and being friends forever. 

Overall we spent about 7 hours cleaning our apartment, we scrubbed the walls, baseboards, dusted the shelfs, sweeped and mopped the hard wood floors along with polishing them. Scrubbed our bathroom very well, since that was where Roscoe was allowed to go to the bathroom when we couldn't take him out. Cleaned the windows (we had a lot of them) inside and out, vacuumed, and dusted the glass cabinet, scrubbed the kitchen cupboards and drawers, cleaned the fridge, oven and the kitchen floor. After everything was complete we Steamed cleaned the carpet and called it good. 

One last thing we had to do was drive my car over to my dads house since i couldn't take it with me, so we loaded up the extra tires and drove over. unfortunately it was almost 1am and everyone at my parents house was sleeping, so we had to park the car and leave the keys for them in the morning. We made a quick stop at my friend rexy's house to say goodbye then headed back to the apartment. 

We had originally planned on leaving after we had finished cleaning and everything, but we were literally walking zombies by the time we were done and decided we needed some sleep before tackling this long drive. so we grabbed our comforter from the cab of the truck and crashed in our bedroom on the wood floor, since the carpet was still pretty wet.
